“The Fair Education Alliance is committed to nurturing evidence-based innovative solutions to make education fair.  That’s why we are so excited to support the Centre for Education and Youth to develop a set of search tools to leverage their sizeable (and growing) archive of qualitative and quantitative data, gathered over a decade of research with practitioners, policymakers, and most importantly disadvantaged, marginalised and vulnerable young people. These new tools will allow CfEY to draw fresh insights, share lived experiences, and provide crucial perspective to those who make decisions affecting young people’s lives. Through this innovation, CfEY will be able to support more effective solutions in education that can be designed with young people’s voice at the heart in order to make the best impact.”

The Centre for Education and Youth is a ‘think and action tank’. They believe society should ensure all children and young people receive the support they need to make a fulfilling transition to adulthood, and they provide the evidence and support to make this happen.

Centre for Education and Youth are developing a set of search tools to leverage theirr sizeable (and growing) archive of qualitative and quantitative data, gathered over a decade of research with practitioners, policymakers, and most importantly disadvantaged, marginalised and vulnerable young people. These new tools will allow them to draw fresh insights, share their experiences, and provide crucial perspective to those who make decisions affecting young people’s lives.

Phil, the lead intrapreneur, is an ex-teacher and passionate trade unionist with a background in Computer Science.  His commitment to equality led him to train as a primary school teacher before the opportunity came to move into research after five years in the classroom. Since joining CfEY, he has worked on many social issues affecting young people, including homelessness and how higher education can better serve care-experienced young people. He is also an editor at the journal 'Education for Tomorrow', and has recently contributed to 'Beyond the Blockade', a book about education in Cuba.
