Welcoming our new Youth Steering Group members

The mission of the Fair Education Alliance Youth Steering Group is to provide a platform that equips young people with the resources, opportunities, and confidence to create impactful change for others. It is this shared purpose that unites us as a collective, with a specific focus on educational inequity. What makes us special is our diversity of location, ethnicity and lived experiences, allowing us to ensure that every voice is heard and advocated for.
Our work spans both small and large-scale projects, with past success at the ministerial roundtable to lower the legal voting age to 16, to persistent panelling in response to educational inequity by members Imanni, Subhan, Saffron, and Sefatlin.
In terms of our presence within the Fair Education Alliance, we previously aided in the selection process of the Chair of Trustees, with perhaps our biggest role being organising the Youth Summit,deciding on speakers and session structure.
This year is a campaign year, where, as a group, we will be deciding where we want to channel our budget, ideas and motivation, whether that be covering mental health in schools, more support for young people with special educational needs, or exams and assessments.

I’m also very eager to develop myself personally by taking advantage of the opportunities provided to me and being more versed in how government policy impacts communities.”

“Heading into my second year on this group feels surreal; we’ve accomplished so much, and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone. I can’t wait to work with our new cohort to run a fantastic campaign and get to know everyone. We’re constantly striving for bigger and better things, and I have confidence this year will be the best yet!”
The work we have done, and continue to do, is a testament to our passion and determination. In return, we ask for your support so we can create meaningful change for young people.
