Upcoming events
We're looking forward to another year at the Wellington Festival of Education on 2–3 July, and we're delighted to be involved in two sessions this year.
From TikTok to Tech Skills: What Students Feel They Really Need from Digital Literacy
Date: 2 July Time: 12:45–13:30
Members of AQA's Student Advisory Group and FEA's Youth Steering Group explore what digital literacy means for young people today and how curriculum reform can better prepare them for life beyond school.
Rebuilding the Village Around the Child: The Role of Schools in Place-Based Initiatives
Date: 3 July Time: 10:30–11:15
Our Head of Policy Insights, Tom Symons, will be in conversation with leads from FEA's Mayoral Strategic Authority partners, exploring how schools and colleges can lead or join place-based initiatives that reconnect families, services and communities around children.
Our last session before the summer break is all about coming together to share, reflect and learn. This session is for all - whether you've run a small AI experiment recently or are simply curious to hear what others across the sector are trying.
Register to join the session here (FEA members only).
Whether you're new to managing people or have years of experience, this two-day programme builds the practical skills, frameworks and confidence to help you get the best out of your team - from giving feedback and delegating effectively, to understanding what motivates the people you lead.

Engaging young people in policy development
In July we will be joined by Becca Weighell, the FEA's Head of Youth Engagement to discuss how education sector organisations can meaningfully engage young people in policy development and influencing. We will showcase examples of successful youth engagement and learn about the key principles, best practices and techniques which can be used to make sure that young people's voices are heard in policy making.
Register to join the session here (FEA members only).
Hosted at DARTS Doncaster, this is the inaugural gathering of a new collaborative space for system leaders and practitioners across the region. Full programme and joining details to follow.
