New strategy follow-up: what now?

Following the launch of our 2025–2030 strategy, Neighbourhood to National, we’ve been energised by the reflections, ideas and enthusiasm you’ve shared. Across the Alliance, members are already demonstrating what our three strands - Collective Voice, Collective Action and Collective Strength - look like in motion.

As we move forward, we’re being deliberate about pace: focusing first on the foundations that will help us deliver the greatest impact over the next five years. The coming months will bring key opportunities to engage, influence and collaborate, starting with our Fair Education Summit on 8 December, where we’ll reconnect as a movement to shape the next phase of change together.

Collective Voice

Our shared voice has never been more vital.

Over the months ahead, we’ll continue to shape national debates on education through coordinated member engagement and policy responses. Together, we’ll build on the work we’ve done to date, influencing key government priorities, including the implementation of the Curriculum and Assessment Review and Child Poverty Strategy, the Autumn Budget, and the Schools White Paper, alongside the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill through the Our Wellbeing, Our Voice coalition.

Through MP visits – like last week’s school visit with our members and Stephen Morgan MP - member briefings and collective statements, we’ll ensure the insights and experiences of our Alliance - from classrooms to communities - are heard where they matter most.

Collective Action

Real change happens when we act together.

  • Our Place-Based Collaboration work will be central to this, and recruitment is now open for three new Head of Collaboration Partnership roles supporting work in Mayoral Combined Authority regions across England. We’ll be announcing the three chosen deep partnership MCA areas and launching our Mayoral Peer Network at the Fair Education Summit on 8 December.

  • And in February 2026, our Youth Summit, led by the FEA Youth Steering Group, will spotlight youth leadership as a driving force for change. Watch this space for further details on how the young people in your organisation can get involved!

Collective Strength

To sustain long-term impact, we’re focused on building the infrastructure that underpins our movement, equipping members with the tools, skills and data to drive system-level change.

  • We’re also expanding use of the Ecosystem Map, our shared evidence base connecting national data with local member activity, to help identify where collaboration can have the greatest impact.

Together, these initiatives will strengthen our collective capacity to deliver against our five Impact Goals - ensuring every child and young person can thrive, wherever they live.

What’s on the horizon

Join us at the Fair Education Summit – 8 December

Be part of the next milestone in our shared journey from Neighbourhood to National. This year’s Fair Education Summit will bring together members, young people, mayors, and policymakers to connect, reflect and shape the future of fair education.

If you haven’t yet received an invite, email fea.events@faireducation.org.uk for more details.

As we look to the months and years ahead, we’re grateful for the energy, ideas and commitment you bring to this movement.

Together, we can build the collective voice, shared action and lasting strength needed to make fair education a reality for every child and young person, in every community.
