Welcome to the
Fair Education Summit
Go All In
To collectively create system change, we need to do what hasn’t been done before. We need to build unexpected connections – from neighbourhood to national - to support children and young people to succeed.
Today, we’ll make space for those connections through creativity and playfulness. We invite you to enter the day by taking a few minutes to consider unexpected connections, creativity and play.
As an alliance, we’re backing the National Year of Reading 2026, which holds huge potential to advance our collective mission. Literacy is key to everything we want children and young people to access – from academic attainment across all subjects, to sound mental health and wellbeing, to new skills.
This is for everyone. All FEA members are invited to Go All In on the National Year of Reading
The campaign aim of ‘Go All In’ is designed to encourage children, young people and families to go all in and learn more about their passions through reading.
What are you excited to Go All In with in 2026?
Draw a book cover that best describes one thing that excites you for 2026. Use the books on the table for inspiration and discuss your cover with your neighbours!
*The books on your table are Quick Reads by The Reading Agency, a member of the FEA and the Literacy Link. The Reading Agency is a UK charity that inspires social and personal change through the proven power of reading. They work with individuals of all ages, communities and trusted partners to share the transformative benefits of reading for happy, healthy and thriving lives.
Quick Reads aims to bring the power and benefits of reading to everyone, including the one in three adults in the UK who do not regularly read for pleasure, and the one in six adults in the UK who find reading difficult. Within this group will be parents, and we know that reading in the household will have a knock on impact on the children and young people and their literacy. Each year, Quick Reads commissions high profile authors to write bitesize, engaging books that are specifically designed to be easy to read. Since 2006, 5.4 million books have been distributed through the initiative and 6.2 million library loans (PLR) have been registered and through outreach work, hundreds of thousands of new readers each year have been introduced to the joys and benefits of reading.
Get in touch today to find out more about what The Reading Agency do and to help them on their mission.
The books will be donated to the National Literacy Trust after today.
Join us at the FEA launch of the National Year of Reading at 3.15pm. This session will be designed for those who have not started preparations for the National Year of Reading.
